Summertime

Do you like summertime? I like it very much. There are some reasons why I think so.

First, a lot of CDs which are up-tempo are released. I like them better than CDs which are slow-tempo.

Second, when I have hot foods in summertime, I think they taste greater.

Third, there is summer vacation. Therefore, we can play a lot with our friends. Incidentally, I play tennis, video games, go cycling, and so on. [76 words]

Book Review 1-09: RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

I read RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. There is a story about a couple in this book. Incidentally, the scene of the story is in an old town of Barcelona.

Kim and Dave were in a narrow street. It was the fourth day of their stay in Barcelona. Dave was interested in the little streets behind the old market. People said the 'dangerous' old town. Then, they came to an interesting little street. Suddenly, there was a noise in a house near the street. A man in a black shirt and jeans ran out from the house. Then, he ran across the street. He put something in a rubbish bin. In the rubbish bin, there were drugs! They were going to take them to the police. However, a man who wasn't very tall, with a thin, white face and dangerous eyes told them 'Give the drugs to me,' with a knife on their way to the police. Since Kim had them and was frightened then, she started to run. Then, she met two police officers that Dave found. She gave drugs to them. After that, they asked Kim to be a decoy to arrest the suspect, Vidal. She talked with Dave, and she decided to cooperate with them. She was back in the same street. Then, Vidal jumped at Kim and caught her with a knife. The police came here and tried to persuade him to surrender himself to the police. However, he wouldn't listen to the persuasion at all and would kill her. Suddenly, Dave ran to the rubbish bin. He took it in his hands and held it over his head. Then, he threw it. The rubbish bin hit Vidal! Kim ran out from Vidal and he wae arrested by the police. Thanks to this event, Kim and Dave were getting along very, very well!!

I think there is an interesting point which you may be attracted. It is a Dave's unexpected act against the suspect. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE is easy for us to understand the content. Therefore, if you are interested in the story, how about reading it once!? [352 words]

Hydrangeas

Driving

I went for a drive with my family on June 17♪ We went to Ebino by driving over an expressway(^_^) Incidentally, Ebino is in Miyazaki prefecture. Each way was about 105 kilometers, so I certainly drove a car more than 210 kilometers and it took about 6 hours!☆! This tired me a lot, but I had a great experience(^^♪ You may think you are afraid of driving over an expressway first, because you must drive a car more than 80 kilometers per hour(>_<) However, if you get used to it, you can think it very interesting!(^^)! The rainy season

The rainy season starts every June. It rains a lot in June. By the way, do you like the rainy season? In this connection, I don’t like it. There are two reasons why I think so.

The one is if it rains, we can’t go out without an umbrella. Therefore, it is very troublesome.

Another is that driving car, riding motorbike or bicycle is dangerous for me. However, scenes such as flowers are beautiful.

About Kumamoto

In Kumamoto, there are many things which you need to know. Now, I will introduce to you some ones such as foods and festivals.

First, basashi means sashimi of horseflesh. This is mainly sold in meat markets. I think the price is a little expensive, but this tastes great! If you don't like basashi, I recommend you to have the cooked or grilled one! In this connection, compared with beef, basashi is light. In addition, this includes high protein. Therefore, this is relatively popular among women.

Second, a firework display is held every August. This had been held in the Lake Ezu until two or three years before. Incidentally, this is held in Ninomaru Park (near the Castle Kumamoto). Since a lot of people come to watch this every August, the traffic control is done by many police officers. Therefore, if you want to watch the firework display, you will have to go there by bus, train or on foot. It is troublesome, but this is worth watching once, because fireworks shot off in the sky are very beautiful!!

Third, 'shimotouri' and 'kamitouri' are popular spots in Kumamoto. These pictures are above. There are a lot of places in 'shimotouri'. For instance, clothes shops, bookstores, fast-food restaurants and so on. Of course, there are amusement places such as arcades. Therefore, you can enjoy shopping, playing games and having foods there. Compared with 'shimotouri', there are not so many places in 'kamitouri'. However, events are sometimes held near the entrance of 'kamitouri'.

Finally, mustard lotus root (karashi rencon) is one of local dishes in Kumamto. In this connection, do you know this is fry!? This includes mustard, so this is a little spicy. Mustard lotus root is mainly sold in shopping arcades, and famous for a ingredient of 'Osechi'.

A season which I like

I like summer very much. There are two reasons I think so.

The one is that I like a firework display! It is held near the Castle Kumamoto every August. I have never seen it, so I want to see it once with my friends! In addition, I like to do fireworks with my friends. Recently, I don’t do.

The other is that I like buckwheat noodles served on a flat tray (zarusoba) and thin wheat noodles (somen). When I have them in summer, they taste especially great, I think. [90 words]

Breath Care

This is Breath Care. When you think your breath smells, if you chew a few drops, your breath will be clean☆★☆ It is a useful thing, I think♪ There are some flavors of Breath Care. Wafuutei

I went to Wafuutei with my family on June 12 at night. I ordered a Big Bowl Of Pork Kimuchi as a main dish. It was delicious and spicy(^^)/~~~ In addition, I ordered a Custard Pudding Parfait as a dessert. It was delicious, but it was too sweet for me(>_<) Therefore, I asked my older sister to have the rest of it. She had the rest of it willingly! English Lounge

Recently, I go to English Lounge with my friends every Tuesday. There are about 10 people in a room which the right picture shows. We must speak English only(>_<) In other words, we mustn't speak Japanese!! It is very difficult for me to speak English well(-_-;) Some English teachers sometimes come here and talk with us. Book Review 1-08: AMAZON Rally

I read AMAZON Rally. This story is about a motorcycle rally. When I saw AMAZON Rally, it seemed interesting. Therefore, I read it.

David and Brian are motorcycle racers. They took part in a motorcycle rally in Brasilia. A lot of people came here to watch the rally. 42 people are going to race from here to Manaus. Then, the rally started. The first day and the second day weren't so bad. At the third day, racers were in the jungle and the road was very bad. Therefore, David and Brian put up a bad fight. One day, they met Indians in the jungle. Indians seemed to be angry. They asked Indians the reason. Indians said 'Are you miners? Sometimes they come here and kill the Indians.' David said 'We are racers.' Indians understood. David and Brian cooperated with Indians in arresting miners. Then, all miners who come to the jungle were arrested! As a mark of appreciation, David got a red necklace, and Brian got a blue one!! After that, they restarted to race. Then, they reached Manaus. A result of the rally was that Luigi who is Italian was first, and Enrico who is Italian was second. In other words, David and Brian lost the rally!! However, they were satisfied with the result.

There is one thing which I was attracted in this story. It is contact between racers and Indians. On reading, I thought Indians tended to keep people who come to the jungle off. In fact, Indians were very kind to welcome people who come there. If you read AMAZON Rally, you will think it is great to contact other people, I think!! [277 words]

Vegetable Life 100 is one of mixed juices. I have drunk it about for 2 years because it is healthy and delicious(^○^) It is sold in convenience stores, department stores, supermarket and so on. Of course, LAWSON of KGU has it!(^^)! In addition, the price of Vegetable Life 100 of this size (200 milliliters) is about 100 yen(#^.^#) Therefore, it is easy to buy, I think☆ If you have never drunk Vegetable Life 100, how about drinking it once(?_?) Book Reveiw 1-07: Surfer!

I read Surfer!. This book is written about a surfing competition.

Nick is a very good surfer. There is a beach near his house. One day, he met Mike, Janelle and Brain. Mike and Janelle think Nick is a very good surfer. However, Brain doesn't think so. A surfing competition will be held at the beach, and Nick, Mike and Brain practice many times for it. Janelle thinks she wants Nick to win. He asked her the reason. She said 'Because you are good. That's why.' On practice, Mike cut his foot. He couldn't be in the competition because of it! Then, the day of the competition came. In the morning, Nick could catch good waves. In the afternoon, he could catch a big wave. However, a surfboard hit his right arm! He fell from his surfboard. The surfboard was Brian's one! In other words, Brain hit nick on purpose!! However, Nick thought it was an accident. Janelle told him the fact, and he was disappointed with it. He thought he lost the competition, but contrary to his expectations, Nick won the competition!!! He was very, very glad. Then, he got 1000 pounds!

There is an interesting point in this story. It is whether Nick won a surfing competition or not. Even if you don't know about surfing at all, you will understand the story after you read this book, I think. Therefore, I recommend you this book!! [238 words]

On June 9 at night

I went to KGU library to do my homework on June 9 at night. These pictures show scenes near KGU library(^.^) I read a book and wrote a summary of it. After all, I stayed there from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.! This tired me very much(+_+) However, I was glad to finish reading a book(^^♪ Although there are a lot of homework yet, I will finish all on time, I think!(^^)! [72 words]

Animals

I like cats, dogs, and dolphins.

First, talking about cats, I think the smaller cats are, the cuter they are. I often see wild cats near my house. I want to have a cat, but my parents don’t allow me to have.

Second, talking about dogs, I would be scared against them. However, I am not scared now.

Finally, talking about dolphins, I want to watch them once. I hear we watch them in Amakusa, so I want to go there and ride on them sometime. [88 words]

☆Introduction about my favorite things☆

Hi, I'm Satoshi. I'm a sophomore majoring in English at KGU. I take some English classes here. For instance, Writing, Reading, Listening, Speaking and so on. Now, I'll talk about some my favorite things.

First, I like curry rice, especially hot one. Generally, curry rice is said to be effective against the summer lethargy and to taste like what your mother used to make. I sometimes go to CoCo ichibanya, which is a curry restaurant. I often order Vegetable Curry or Fried Chicken Curry. In this connection, I like vegetable curry better than beef or cutlet curry! What curry rice do you like the best!?

Next, my favorite musician group is Every Little Thing. The members of this group are Kaori Mochida and Ichiro Ito. She is a singer and he is a guitarist. They are attractive people because their chats are always funny!! They broadcast in many music programs. They have released about 30 CDs. I especially like 'Grip!' and 'Fundamental Love' because I think I can be positive when I listen to them.

Third, I like to play tennis. When I was a junior high school student, I belonged to a soft-ball tennis club. Then, I went to a tennis school soon after I entered a high school. However, I played here for a month and left here because I was very busy at a lot of homework. Although I don't belong to a tennis club or go to a tennis school now, I enjoy playing tennis as a hobby with my friends!

Fourth, my favorite TV program is Koino Karasawagi. A host of it is Sanma Akashiya, who is a famous entertainer. It is a love talk program and about 20 women talk about a theme each other. I watch it every Saturday. There are a lot of things which I can learn from it, I think. However, since Koino Karasawagi starts at 11 p.m., it is a little late. Therefore, when I feel sleepy around this time, I tape it.

Fifth, I like a book, whose title is 'THE PRINCE OF TENNIS'. It is very famous among young people. It is published once 2 or 3 months. I bought it for the first time when I was a high school student. 'THE PRINCE OF TENNIS' is written about tennis, you know. There are many characters in it. In this connection, a main character is Ryoma Echizen, who is 12 years old. I think it is worth reading once!!

Finally, my favorite restaurant is Joyfull. Joyfull has a lot of various menus. For example, steaks, omelets containing fried rice, 'udons', curry rice, desserts and so on. In addition, all menus are reasonable! Therefore, Joyfull is popular among all generations, I think. I often order Pepper Hamburger Steak. This is very delicious and a little spicy. What do you order when you go to Joyfull!?
